Slack and webhooks
A receiver is where alerts go: a Slack channel or an HTTPS endpoint of yours. Your Agent sends them itself, so they arrive even when no one has icLens open. Open Monitor › Receivers. You need to be an Admin.
-
Choose Add receiver and give it a name.
-
Choose the destination. Slack incoming webhook: paste the webhook URL from Slack. HTTPS webhook: enter your endpoint, and a bearer token if it needs one.
-
Connect to rules. Tick the rules that should notify it. Turn on Notify when resolved to hear when an alert clears too.
-
Review and save.
Test it
Section titled “Test it”Choose Send test on the receiver. The review shows the fee for one call; then choose Send one test. The result says whether your endpoint accepted it.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Webhook URLs and tokens are stored write-only in the Agent. icLens never shows them again; leave the field blank when editing to keep the current one.
- Each notification is a small HTTPS call paid from the Agent’s cycles, within a notification allowance you set with Review notification HTTP allowance.
- Accepted by your endpoint doesn’t prove a person saw it. Keep replies small: a slow or large reply can make the Agent retry.
- Last notification shows when the Agent last sent to a receiver.
For alerts in your browser while icLens is open, see Inbox and notifications.
