Live calls
Open a canister’s Timeline, choose Calls, and start watching. You see requests reach the canister in real time, as the network’s boundary nodes observe them.
What you see
Section titled “What you see”- Five figures for the session: calls, client errors (4xx), server errors (5xx), p95 duration and cache hits.
- A chart of calls over time, and the latest requests, with method, status, duration and node.
- A Methods table, grouping calls by method.
- Filters for method and status.
Coverage
Section titled “Coverage”The summary says how many boundary nodes you’re connected to. Read it before a low number: partial coverage, or no live coverage, means some calls may be missing, not that nobody is calling.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Watching starts when you start it, and stops when you leave. There’s no history from before you started.
- It keeps the last five minutes and up to 500 requests in memory.
- Live calls work on Mainnet only. The canister needs no code changes.
- An HTTP status at the edge isn’t your method’s result: an update can still fail inside the canister. Check logs or traces for that.
