Share read-only access
Viewer access lets anyone who signs in read your Agent without joining your team. It’s useful as a public status view for your users or partners.
-
Open Agent › People. You need to be an Admin.
-
Turn on Viewer access: “Let any signed-in user read”.
-
Review Change viewer access and confirm.
Viewers connect with the Agent’s canister ID, like any member.
What viewers see
Section titled “What viewers see”| They can see | They can’t |
|---|---|
| Canisters, with names and tags | Change anything |
| Metrics, dashboards and reports | Run operations or ask the Agent to read fresh data |
| Monitor rules and alerts | See People, Activity or audit |
| Timeline and storage summaries | Use the AI assistant |
Secrets, such as webhook URLs and tokens, are never shared.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Viewer access is publishing. Anyone signed in can read, including from outside icLens. Review names, tags and annotations before you turn it on.
- Canisters you add later become visible too.
- Turning it off stops new reads. It can’t take back what someone already copied.
- A member you removed can still read as a viewer while it’s on.
A default Agent for your deployment
Section titled “A default Agent for your deployment”If you host icLens yourself, you can configure a default Agent that everyone sees without typing its ID. It’s only discovered: it grants no access, and it never runs anyone’s operations on its own. Configuration.
