Release and updates

Open Agent › Release and updates to see the build your Agent runs and whether a newer certified release is available. Inbox also tells you when one is.

Every Agent build is certified: icLens checks its hash against the release it publishes before installing anything. The Installed build card shows Certified match when your Agent runs exactly that code. The module hash decides, never the version text.

Only the owner, who also controls the Agent canister, can upgrade.

  1. Choose Review upgrade to the new version.

  2. Read what will happen. The Agent stops while it installs; Monitor, automatic top-ups and jobs pause. One rollback snapshot is taken first, paid from the Agent’s own cycles.

  3. Tick that you understand, and choose Upgrade as You.

  4. Wait for verification. icLens checks the new build, the Agent’s identity and data, then releases its held work.

Your canister list, history, rules and people are kept.

The page shows the steps that finished and keeps the rollback snapshot. Choose Resume the upgrade to continue from the last confirmed step. If the install failed, the old build stays installed and you can retry.

If something needs support, Copy for a support request copies the details, with no secrets.

  • Upgrades never run on their own. Nothing changes until the owner approves.
  • An older Agent keeps working for what it supports. A feature that needs a newer build says so.
  • Installing with your own tools? Set up with icp-cli gives the certified Wasm, its hash and the commands.
  • During the beta, downloading Agent builds may ask for an Access code from support@iclens.io.
